DEME NV’s shares advanced 7.1% on Thursday after the Belgian marine engineering and dredging group posted first-half revenue of €2.2 billion, a 2% increase from the prior-year period, alongside a 20% rise in net profit to €215 million.
The company, marking its 150th anniversary, reported EBITDA of €466 million for the six months, yielding a margin of 21.6%. The dredging and infrastructure segment outperformed expectations, while offshore energy also delivered robust margins. Kepler Cheuvreux described the results as strong in a same-day note, highlighting EBITDA that exceeded consensus and net profit that surpassed expectations by a "particularly wide margin."
Management raised its full-year guidance, forecasting revenue to slightly exceed 2025 levels while maintaining an EBITDA margin in line with the prior year. The stock, listed on Euronext Brussels, reached a session high of €182.80, up from an opening price of €178.00, before settling near €180.40.
U.S. equity benchmarks, including the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average, traded essentially flat on the day.
