Daimler Truck said on Monday it raised approximately €600 million from the sale of part of its stake in Archion, a joint venture with Toyota.
The Stuttgart-based truck manufacturer reduced its Archion holding to 25%, down from just over 40% at the end of June, marking a key strategic milestone in its restructuring efforts. The proceeds will support Daimler Truck’s broader financial and operational objectives as it navigates shifting market dynamics in the commercial vehicle sector.
Archion was formed through the combination of Daimler Truck’s Mitsubishi Fuso and Toyota’s Hino, both of which operate under the joint holding company’s umbrella. The structure was taken public in Japan, with both German and Japanese automakers retaining significant ownership stakes.
The divestment aligns with Daimler Truck’s stated strategy to optimize its portfolio and enhance liquidity amid evolving demand patterns in the global trucking industry. Toyota remains a co-investor in the venture, underscoring the continued collaboration between the two automakers in the commercial vehicle segment.
