German energy technology company INNIO N.V. will invest more than $300 million to expand its Waukesha, Wisconsin facility, creating over 500 new jobs over the coming years. The project will add new engine assembly capabilities to meet rising demand from U.S. customers for decentralized energy solutions.
The expansion includes construction of an engine testing facility exceeding 80,000 square feet, along with renovations to office and shop floor spaces. The Waukesha campus currently spans approximately 1.7 million square feet, including nearly 890,000 square feet dedicated to manufacturing and operations. The facility specializes in remanufacturing, repair and overhaul services.
Engines produced at the site power data centers, power grids and industrial operations across the United States. The expansion aligns with INNIO’s Jenbacher and Waukesha brands, which supply engines for decentralized energy applications. The company operates additional U.S. hubs in Trenton, New Jersey, and Waller, Texas.
INNIO’s global workforce totals more than 5,000 employees as of December 31, 2025. The expansion underscores the company’s commitment to local value creation in the U.S. market, according to Roger George, CEO of INNIO Waukesha. New roles will include assembly and production, engineering, machining and CNC operations, material handling and warehouse operations, and electrical and maintenance technician positions.
