D-Wave Quantum Inc. announced that Chief Financial Officer John Markovich will retire on September 2, 2026, after five years in the role. The quantum computing company named Senior Vice President of Finance Greg Golkov as acting CFO and principal financial and accounting officer.
Markovich’s resignation was not attributed to any disagreement with the company regarding operations, accounting policies, financial statements, or internal controls. Under his leadership, D-Wave completed its public listing in 2022 and secured over $900 million in capital.
Golkov, who has served as senior vice president of finance since May 2023, oversees accounting, SEC reporting, financial planning, treasury, and tax functions. He brings more than 25 years of finance and accounting experience across publicly traded and private equity-backed technology companies.
Prior to D-Wave, Golkov held roles including vice president and controller at Butterfly Network Inc. from October 2020 to March 2023, where he supported the company’s transition to public company reporting. Before that, he served as senior vice president of finance at Kaseya from August 2018 to October 2020, leading finance transformation and M&A integration initiatives.
