Cloudflare Inc. announced the launch of a new service called Vulnerability Discovery and Remediation. The offering is part of the OpenAI Daybreak Defense Network partnership and is currently available by invitation to select Cloudflare Enterprise customers through the Cloudflare Managed Defense program.
The service leverages OpenAI’s Daybreak models, including the GPT-5.6 Cyber model, combined with traffic and security data gathered from Cloudflare’s global network. It integrates AI‑driven code analysis across Cloudflare’s platform, covering Web Assets, the Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Workers Observability. Users can correlate live internet traffic with vulnerability scans, generate custom WAF rules for emerging attack vectors and receive AI‑generated code patches for developer review. All suggested code fixes and edge rules must be approved by a human before deployment.
The launch comes as the National Vulnerability Database recorded 60,475 vulnerabilities by September 2026, up from 48,185 in the full year of 2025. Cloudflare’s co‑founder and CEO Matthew Prince said the company’s network can now move from reacting to attacks to stopping them before they land, while OpenAI’s Head of Global Cyber Partnerships McCall McIntyre highlighted the partnership’s goal of delivering proactive, AI‑driven security to enterprise defenders.
The service is positioned as an early‑access offering for enterprise clients, with broader availability to be defined by Cloudflare in future phases.
