Elastic (NYSE: ESTC) disclosed on Thursday, Sept 3, 2026, that it will embed OpenAI's GPT cyber models into its Elastic Security platform through OpenAI's Daybreak Defense Network. The integration will be delivered via Elastic's Inference Service, a managed, GPU‑accelerated inference layer, allowing the models to operate directly within security workflows.
The AI models are intended to support alert triage, investigation, detection engineering and remediation tasks, eliminating the need for customers to deploy or manage separate model infrastructure. Elastic said its platform serves thousands of companies, including more than 75% of the Fortune 100.
Mike Nichols, Elastic's general manager of security, said attackers are using AI at machine speed and defenders need comparable AI capabilities. OpenAI's head of global cyber partnerships, McCall McIntyre, highlighted the collaboration as a way for security teams to leverage domain‑specific intelligence for environmental protection.
