Bumrungrad Hospital Public Company Limited reported mixed second-quarter results for 2026, with revenue exceeding expectations but earnings per share falling short of forecasts.
Total revenue for the quarter reached THB 6.28 billion, up 2.9% year-over-year and surpassing the THB 6.10 billion estimate by approximately 3.0%. Hospital operations revenue rose 3.8% YoY, while net profit increased 1.7% to THB 1.89 billion, resulting in a net profit margin of 30.1%. Earnings per share came in at THB 2.18, missing the THB 2.28 forecast by THB 0.10.
For the first half of 2026, total revenue reached THB 12.53 billion, a 1.8% increase YoY, with hospital operations revenue up 2.6%. EBITDA rose 3.7% to THB 5.05 billion, yielding a margin of 40.3%, while net profit grew 2.4% to THB 3.68 billion.
Non-Thai patient revenue grew 7.1% in the quarter, driven by a 13.5% increase in Middle East revenue, which offset a 2.2% decline in Thai patient revenue. Inpatient revenue rose 8.2% and accounted for 51% of total revenue, while outpatient revenue fell 2.8%. Self-pay patients contributed 60% of first-half revenue, down from 63% a year earlier, with insurance and government/third-party payers accounting for 22% and 17%, respectively.
Geographically, the Middle East led growth, with Qatar revenue up 20% in the first half and the UAE increasing 11%. Indochina revenue declined 3.9% YoY in the first half, though excluding Cambodia, it grew 14.7%. Myanmar revenue rose 21.2%, while China revenue fell 6.4%.
The company approved an interim dividend of THB 4 per share, double the prior year’s interim payout, payable on September 10, 2026. Bumrungrad also reaffirmed plans to soft-launch its Phuket hospital expansion with 212 beds in Q3 2027 and commence operations at a Bangladesh clinic by year-end 2026.
Shares rose 1.02% to THB 198 following the results, within a 52-week range of THB 136 to THB 214.
