BitFuFu Inc. reported quarterly earnings that missed market expectations by $0.13 per share, while revenue also fell below forecasts, reflecting softer demand in the crypto mining sector.
The company, which operates cryptocurrency mining facilities, posted adjusted earnings per share of $0.47, compared with the $0.60 consensus estimate compiled by Refinitiv. Revenue totaled $124.3 million, below the $130.5 million anticipated by analysts.
BitFuFu attributed the underperformance to weaker cryptocurrency prices and reduced transaction volumes, which weighed on mining profitability during the quarter. The company noted that while operational efficiency improved, the broader market downturn limited revenue growth.
Chief Executive Officer Liu Fang commented that the firm remains focused on cost optimization and expanding its high-efficiency mining fleet, despite the near-term challenges posed by market volatility.
Shares of BitFuFu fell 4.2% in pre-market trading following the results, extending declines from the prior session. The stock has declined approximately 18% over the past month amid broader weakness in crypto-related equities.
Analysts at Jefferies maintained a Hold rating on BitFuFu, citing concerns over near-term margin pressure, though they acknowledged the company's long-term positioning in the sector.
The earnings report follows a period of heightened volatility in digital asset markets, with Bitcoin and Ethereum prices declining sharply from recent highs. Industry participants have warned that prolonged weakness in crypto prices could further pressure mining companies' financial performance.
