Arq Inc. has named Peter Owino as chief accounting officer, effective September 1, 2026, following his interim tenure under a consulting agreement that began June 12, 2026.
Owino brings more than two decades of accounting, finance and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance experience across public and private companies. Prior to his interim role at Arq, he served as corporate controller at Colliers Engineering & Design from 2024 through 2026. Earlier, he held the CAO position at Merchant e-Solutions from 2020 to 2022. His career also includes director roles at KPMG New York from 2015 to 2020 and positions at Finjan Holdings, Deloitte & Touche and Ernst & Young.
The company said Owino holds a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting from Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya, and is a licensed certified public accountant.
As part of the appointment, Arq granted Owino 100,000 restricted stock awards under an inducement equity plan. The shares will vest in equal installments on each of the first three anniversaries of the grant date, subject to continued employment. The Compensation Committee of Arq’s board approved the awards in accordance with Nasdaq Listing Rule 5635(c)(4).
Arq, based in Greenwood Village, Colorado, produces activated carbon and carbon products for purification and sustainable materials applications.
