American Healthcare REIT Inc. named Aric Chang as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective Oct. 1, 2026, replacing Brian Peay, who is retiring after 10 years in the role.
Chang joins from Public Storage, where he served as Real Estate Chief Financial Officer and supervised approximately $16 billion in capital allocation across acquisitions, development, credit operations and mergers and acquisitions. His prior career includes senior roles at Rexford Industrial, Rouse Properties and J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where he was Managing Director from 2015 to 2022 and served on the real estate investment committee.
At American Healthcare REIT, Chang will lead a finance team including Kenny Lin as Executive Vice President, Deputy CFO and Chief Accounting Officer; Charlynn H. Diapo as Senior Vice President of Accounting and Finance; and Alan Peterson as Vice President of Investor Relations and Finance. The REIT focuses on acquiring, owning and operating clinical healthcare real estate in the United States, United Kingdom and the Isle of Man.
Chang holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia Business School. His real estate finance career spans more than two decades, beginning in 2001.
