Alpha Modus Holdings said the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted Patent No. 12,725,176 for a method that tracks shopper activity in physical retail environments and delivers targeted offers to mobile devices.
The technology converts in-store behavior into personalized communications such as pricing information, coupons, and limited-time discounts. It identifies product engagement through shelf-position tracking, eye movement, or interaction with kiosks, displays, tablets, or phones. The system also analyzes demographic and sentiment data, determines shopper location, and can route purchases to shipping or in-store pickup with location-specific pricing.
The patented method is part of a broader portfolio covering real-time consumer behavior analysis, in-store marketing, shelf intelligence, inventory management, and customer assistance. Alpha Modus said it now holds 13 granted U.S. patents and has one application pending.
The newly issued patent traces its priority to a provisional application filed in July 2013. The company previously secured U.S. Patent No. 12,591,901 in March 2026. Alpha Modus is based in Cornelius, North Carolina, and operates through its subsidiary Alpha Modus Corp.
The announcement follows a legal update in August 2026, when Alpha Modus said it defeated a motion to dismiss brought by MNTN.
