Verbio SE reported a significant increase in EBITDA to €193.9 million for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, compared to €14.2 million in the prior year. The company's net debt decreased to €91.5 million from €164.0 million, and the equity ratio improved to 59.7% from 58.2%. Operating cash flow reached €164.6 million, and free cash flow was €78 million. Gross margin per tonne for biodiesel and bioethanol sold nearly doubled to approximately €280, with the "Verbio Premium" component doubling to €130 per tonne. The company's CO2 Handprint reached a record 4.7 million tonnes.
Production volumes increased by 19% year-over-year to 1,410 kt/GWh. Biodiesel production rose to 627 kt from 619 kt, and biomethane output reached 591 GWh compared to 583 GWh in the prior year. Quarterly EBITDA progression showed improvements, with Q4 EBITDA reaching €88.2 million, a swing from a loss of €8.2 million in the same period a year earlier.
The regulatory shift, particularly the implementation of the EU's Renewable Energy Directive III (RED III) in January 2026, significantly impacted Verbio's performance. Quota prices for greenhouse gas (GHG) increased from around €150 per tonne of CO2 equivalent in early 2025 to over €350 by June 2026, and reached €520–530 per tonne by year-end 2026. The 2027 calendar year quota pricing stands at approximately €420–440 per tonne.
Market pricing for bio-LNG in Germany traded around €0.70–0.80 per kilogram, versus €1.50–1.75 per liter for diesel during the first nine months of 2026. In the U.S., Chicago ethanol futures consistently traded $1.00–1.50 per gallon below RBOB gasoline futures. Verbio's stock price traded slightly lower at $339.41, down 0.38% from the previous close of $340.72, with a 52-week range from $280.27 to $367.04. The P/E ratio was 25.33, and the market capitalization was $45.7 billion. The company maintained dividend payments for 23 consecutive years with a current yield of 0.45%.
