Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd announced the launch of a new family of ZeroFlap optical transceivers built around a 224G per lane digital signal processor. The devices combine this DSP with Credo’s Kfir200 silicon photonics-based photonic integrated circuit and the PILOT diagnostic and analytics platform, marking the first products that integrate the company’s DSP with its silicon photonics technology.
The transceivers deliver 1.6T aggregate bandwidth across 2xDR4, 2xFR4 and DR8 form factors and include real‑time optical link health monitoring, telemetry streaming, bidirectional remote telemetry, remote firmware updates and non‑volatile event logging. They are offered in integrated heat sink and riding heat sink variants and are designed for deployment in various AI data center topologies, including configurations that require fiber shuffle for hyperscale and enterprise environments.
According to Cignal AI, more than 11 million 1.6T optical transceivers are expected to ship in 2026, with the forecast for 2027 exceeding double that amount. Ameet Suri, VP of Product at Credo, said that getting an AI cluster online and keeping it running starts with a stable network, and that ZeroFlap Optics constantly monitor every link with built‑in telemetry to detect warning signs and avoid costly link flaps.
