Shell Stock Hits All-Time High as Q2 Revenue Beats

Shell PLC ADR reached an all-time high of 94.93 USD, with shares trading around 95.10 USD — just 0.98% below its 52-week peak — as investors responded positively to the company's second-quarter 2026 results and a string of strategic acquisitions.

Revenue for the quarter came in at 94.66 billion USD, surpassing analyst forecasts of 86.80 billion USD. Operating cash flow exceeded 21 billion USD and free cash flow was approximately 17 billion USD. However, earnings per share of 1.76 USD fell short of the expected 2.80 USD, weighing on one metric despite the top-line beat.

The stock has climbed 29.24% over the past year, supported by a Piotroski Score of 9 — considered perfect — and a dividend yield of 3.36%, with Shell having maintained its dividend payments for 22 consecutive years. Its trailing P/E ratio stands at 10.51.

In acquisition activity, Shell agreed to acquire full ownership of Tri Star Energy, adding 320 fuel and convenience retail sites across Tennessee and nearby states, along with supply agreements covering 552 dealer-owned locations. The company also entered into a deal with bp to acquire stakes in offshore exploration assets in Brazil and the Gulf of America, securing a 50% stake in the Tupinambá exploration block and a 30% interest in several Gulf leases.

In the refining sector, Erste Group upgraded Shell's stock rating from Hold to Buy. Meanwhile, Shell and Equinor sold WTI Midland crude cargoes to Total, terms of which were not disclosed.

The stock's momentum comes amid broader energy-sector strength, with Shell's balance sheet bolstered by strong cash generation and continued expansion in both retail and upstream operations.
