Revvity Agrees to Acquire Human Cell Design in Metabolic Research Deal

Revvity, Inc. (NYSE: RVTY), a Waltham, Massachusetts company and S&P 500 constituent, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Human Cell Design, a France-based biotechnology firm specializing in human cell models for diabetes, obesity and metabolic disease research. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Revvity reported 2025 revenue of $2.9 billion and employs approximately 11,000 people. The acquisition adds Human Cell Design’s human pancreatic beta cell models, including the EndoC-βH5 model, to Revvity’s life-sciences portfolio. The models are used to study beta cell physiology, support drug discovery and preclinical research, inform early-stage drug discovery, support regenerative medicine approaches for Type 1 diabetes and aid quality control for cell-based therapies.

Human Cell Design also provides specialized media, reagents and its NatLine cell-line development platform. The company’s cell models are compatible with Revvity’s cell analysis, detection and high-content screening technologies, as well as its HTRF and AlphaLISA assays used to measure cAMP and insulin, and pHSense technology for receptor internalization studies.

Prahlad Singh, president and chief executive officer of Revvity, said Human Cell Design brings differentiated human cell models that complement Revvity’s broad portfolio of technologies supporting drug discovery and development. Guillaume Costecalde, founder and president of Human Cell Design, said joining Revvity is expected to bring the company’s human cell models and NatLine technology to a broader global customer base.
