PACS Group, Inc., a holding company focused on post-acute healthcare facilities, has appointed Patrick J. Murphy as its new Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. Murphy assumes the role effective upon the announcement, following John Mitchell’s retirement on September 18. Mitchell, who joined PACS in 2017, oversaw the company’s legal department through its growth and initial public offering (IPO) and will continue as a consultant during the transition period.
Murphy brings extensive legal and corporate experience, including nearly 15 years as Global Chief Litigation Counsel for GE Healthcare, where he managed litigation for a two-decade tenure at General Electric. Prior roles include Senior Vice President Legal and Global Chief Litigation Counsel for Fresenius Medical Care, Chief Counsel for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee’s Crime and Technology Unit, and Assistant General Counsel for the FBI. He also served as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps, reaching the rank of Major.
PACS operates 355 post-acute care facilities across 20 states, serving over 33,400 patients daily. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, the company remains a key player in the healthcare sector, specializing in facilities that provide care following hospital discharges.
