Municipality Finance Plc, a Finnish credit institution, has priced a EUR 1 billion green benchmark bond under its medium-term note programme and its broader EUR 50 billion programme for debt instruments. The bond carries a fixed coupon of 3.25% per annum and matures on September 14, 2031.
The bond was issued on Wednesday, September 10, 2026, and the company expects public trading to begin on the same date. Municipality Finance has applied for admission to trading on the Helsinki Stock Exchange, maintained by Nasdaq Helsinki.
Danske Bank A/S, DZ Bank AG Deutsche Zentral-Genossenschaftsbank, J.P. Morgan SE and Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (publ) acted as joint lead managers for the transaction.
Municipality Finance has a balance sheet exceeding EUR 57 billion. Its owners include Finnish municipalities, the public sector pension fund Keva and the State of Finland. The company provides lending to municipalities, joint municipal authorities, wellbeing services counties, corporate entities under their control and non-profit organisations nominated by the Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland.
The bond is guaranteed by the Municipal Guarantee Board.
