Goldplat declares 0.87p special dividend amid excess cash assessment

Goldplat plc (AIM: GDP) has declared a special dividend of 0.87319 pence per share, totaling approximately £1.5 million, the company said.

The board reached the decision after reviewing the group's liquidity position, factoring in working capital requirements, capital expenditure needs and a liquidity buffer. After accounting for those obligations, roughly £1.5 million in excess cash was identified as available for distribution to shareholders.

The special dividend carries an ex-dividend date of October 1, 2026, a record date of October 2, 2026 and a payment date of October 15, 2026.

Goldplat CEO Werner Klingenberg said the firm continues to operate in a niche segment of the mining-services market, with "unique opportunities and challenges." He added that while the company remains focused on building a more robust business capable of addressing various industry requirements, it is "pleased to be able to pay a special dividend."

Goldplat operates gold recovery services in South Africa and Ghana, providing solutions to the African and South American mining industries through its international operations.

The company also confirmed it intends to maintain its ordinary quarterly dividend payments and said the board will continue to assess its excess cash position for potential future distributions.
