Genuit reports resilient H1 2026 margins despite market challenges

Genuit Group said first-half 2026 margins remained resilient despite broader market headwinds, as cost discipline and operational efficiency helped cushion softer demand in its core European markets.

The building materials company, which supplies products for residential and commercial construction, reported stable profitability in the six months to June, with margins broadly in line with the same period a year earlier. Revenue declined modestly on weaker order intake, reflecting cautious spending by contractors and developers amid elevated financing costs and economic uncertainty.

Genuit did not provide specific margin figures in its slide deck but noted that pricing power and supply chain optimisation supported earnings. The group reiterated its full-year 2026 guidance for low-single-digit revenue growth, though it flagged potential downside risks from persistent inflation and geopolitical tensions.

Analysts said the results underscored the company’s ability to navigate a challenging environment, with demand for renovation and energy-efficient products providing some offset to weaker new-build activity. Genuit’s exposure to retrofit markets, particularly in Germany and the UK, has helped mitigate broader construction sector weakness.

Shares in Genuit were little changed in early trading, with investors focusing on the group’s ability to sustain margins through the second half of the year.
