Bordier & Cie Promotes Nicolas Porchet to Unlimited-Liability Partner

Geneva private bank Bordier & Cie named Nicolas Porchet an unlimited-liability partner on Tuesday, effective immediately. The bank said the appointment recognizes Porchet’s contribution to the firm’s development, including the opening of its Lausanne office.

Porchet, 50, joined Bordier & Cie in 2019 and has served on its management board, where he leads business development and oversees client acquisition. He brings more than 25 years of experience in banking across Switzerland and Asia, with a focus on business development, client acquisition, marketing and portfolio management for Swiss and international clients. Prior to Bordier, he held positions at J. Safra Sarasin, Lombard Odier, Pictet, Credit Suisse and Reuters. He holds a bachelor’s in International Hospitality Management from the École hôtelière de Lausanne, along with CFA and CAIA designations, and speaks French, English and Mandarin.

Senior partner Evrard Bordier highlighted Porchet’s role in the bank’s recent business-development initiatives, while senior partner Grégoire Bordier described the appointment as part of the firm’s long-term succession and continuity planning. Partner Christian Skaanild said the move reflects a deliberate strategy of integrating leaders who have contributed over time into the ownership structure.

Founded in 1844, Bordier & Cie remains owned and led by the fifth generation of its founding family.
