nVent to buy Maverick Power for $1.75 billion in data center push

nVent Electric plc agreed to acquire Maverick Power for $1.75 billion in cash, adding engineered power distribution systems for data centers as the industrial group accelerates its infrastructure-focused growth strategy.

The transaction is valued at approximately 11.5 times Maverick’s projected 2026 adjusted EBITDA of $152 million, rising to about 10.5 times when accounting for the present value of expected tax benefits. Maverick is expected to generate roughly $700 million in revenue in 2026, with nVent anticipating the deal to be accretive to adjusted earnings per share in the first full year after closing.

Up to an additional $550 million in cash may be paid between 2027 and 2028, contingent on performance targets. nVent plans to finance the purchase with a mix of available cash and new debt, supported by a committed bridge facility arranged by Bank of America.

Maverick, based in McKinney, Texas, employs about 900 people across facilities in Texas and Arizona. The company specializes in low-voltage switchgear and switchboards, medium-voltage switchgear, and integrated modular power solutions, serving data center operators and other critical infrastructure sectors.

nVent, listed on the NYSE under ticker NVT, said the acquisition strengthens its position in high-growth infrastructure verticals and broadens its product offerings for data center customers. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

nVent Chair and CEO Beth Wozniak said Maverick Power is a strategic fit that aligns with the company’s focus on infrastructure growth, while Maverick President and CEO Tom Currier called the transaction a significant milestone for the business.
