M&G plc said it appointed Hitoshi Yamaguchi as a non-executive director, effective September 3, 2026, as part of a strategic partnership with Daiichi Life Group, Inc.

Sir Edward Braham, Chairman of M&G, said the move further strengthens the partnership between M&G and Daiichi Life. Yamaguchi, who has over 30 years of experience in international insurance and finance, will work with M&G’s board and management team.
Yamaguchi previously served in various positions, including Business Head of Daiichi Life’s International Life Insurance Division, Senior Managing Executive Officer of Dai Ichi Life Holdings, and Deputy CEO and CFO of Star Union Dai Ichi Life Insurance. He joined the board of Daiichi Life in June 2023.
