Brazilian benchmark Bovespa index closed down 0.27% on Tuesday, extending losses to a six-month low as Real Estate, Consumption and Basic Materials sectors weighed on sentiment.
Bovespa descended to 126,450.20, a decrease from an intraday high of 126,800, with the number of declining stocks outweighing those advancing by 485 to 456 on the B3 exchange. Thirty-nine stocks ended unchanged.
Among the top performers, Hapvida Participações e Investimentos rose 3.04% to 6.78 reais, Azzas 2154 SA added 2.47% to 15.34 reais, and Totvs SA gained 2.00% to 31.10 reais. Losses were led by C A Modas SA, which fell 5.87% to 7.40 reais, marking a 52-week low, followed by Cury Construtora e Incorporadora SA down 3.93% to 31.12 reais and Direcional Engenharia SA down 3.56% to 10.30 reais.
