ZenaTech Inc. announced the completion of its 28th Drone as a Service (DaaS) acquisition, purchasing Cogswell Engineering Ltd., a Dartmouth-based civil and structural engineering firm with operations spanning five Canadian provinces.
The transaction deepens ZenaTech’s presence in Atlantic Canada, following two prior DaaS acquisitions in the Halifax region. Cogswell’s existing customer base and provincial licensing provide an immediate platform for expanded drone-enabled services, including structural inspections, construction monitoring and stormwater management.
ZenaTech CEO Shaun Passley said the acquisition aligns with the company’s strategy to integrate drone technology with traditional engineering workflows. ‘This acquisition strengthens our Drone as a Service footprint in Atlantic Canada and extends our platform into civil and structural engineering design work,’ Passley stated.
The deal follows ZenaTech’s recent expansion across North America, with manufacturing facilities in Arizona, Dubai and Taiwan producing platforms such as the ZenaDrone 1000, IQ Nano, IQ Square, IQ Quad, IQ Aqua, ZenaTech 2000, IQ Glider, IQ Sphere and Interceptor P-1. The company operates under its ZenaWorx platform, which integrates drone hardware, software and services for commercial applications.
The drone inspection and monitoring market is projected to grow at 19% annually, reaching nearly $37 billion by 2030, according to The Business Research Company. ZenaTech’s acquisitions have accelerated its expansion in Canada, where it now holds three DaaS deals, reinforcing its position in infrastructure and public works sectors.
ZenaTech is listed on NASDAQ under ticker ZENA, with additional listings on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (49Q) and Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (ZENA). Contact details include phone 312-241-1415 and email info@zenatech.com.
