The XRP Ledger’s Batch upgrade has been pushed back to at least Oct. 9, 14:46 UTC, after validator support briefly fell below the 80% threshold required for activation. The feature, called Batch, enables users to submit up to eight transactions in a single operation, including an all‑or‑nothing mode that can combine payment and delivery of tokenized assets.
On Sept. 25, the XRPL amendment dashboard showed that 30 of the 35 trusted validators had regained support, restarting a two‑week countdown. The upgrade will activate on Oct. 9 provided the support level remains above the required threshold for the full period.
The Batch upgrade is the second attempt after the original version was withdrawn in August due to a critical signature‑checking flaw. The corrected implementation was shipped with version 3.3.0 of the ledger software.
A separate upgrade, PermissionDelegationV1_1, which allows account owners to delegate specific tasks without sharing signing keys, also missed its original timeline. After losing qualifying support on Sept. 23, it regained the needed votes a day later, moving its earliest activation to Oct. 8, 21:25 UTC.
RippleX head of engineering Ayo Akinyele told CoinDesk that projects are already being built with Batch in mind and that the feature’s activation will bring those efforts closer to production, though no partners or launch dates were disclosed.
