Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has expanded its automotive-grade common mode choke portfolio with four new surface-mount devices, the company said on Tuesday. The additions target electromagnetic interference suppression in DC/DC power supplies, in-vehicle Ethernet, and battery-powered systems used in modern vehicles.
All four chokes meet AEC-Q200 automotive qualification standards and operate at temperatures up to 150°C. The wirewound ferrite devices ICM5050-A and ICM6050-A support continuous currents of up to 11 A and 14 A respectively, housed in 5050 and 6050 case sizes measuring 12.0 mm x 11.0 mm x 6.0 mm and 15.0 mm x 13.0 mm x 6.0 mm. The ferrite chokes IFLN-1210BE-A and IFLN-1812CZ-A offer impedance up to 11 kΩ at 100 MHz, packaged in 1210 and 1812 formats.
Electrical specifications across the range include DC resistance from 0.4 mΩ to 12 mΩ. The devices are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and compatible with reflow soldering and automated assembly processes. Vishay positioned the portfolio for applications including LCD displays, lighting drivers, CAN bus interfaces, and automotive DC/DC converters where EMI noise reduction is critical.
Samples and production quantities are available with lead times of 10 to 12 weeks, according to the company.
