RBC Capital’s Global Research team released its quarterly Top 30 Global Ideas for 2026 on Tuesday, led by co-heads Graeme Pearson and Mark Odendahl.
The list added three new positions—Apotex Health, Canadian National Railway and Lonza—while removing Alcon, Boston Scientific and DuPont de Nemours in favor of higher-conviction selections. The remaining 27 names were retained from the previous quarter’s iteration.
Over the second quarter of 2026, the Top 30 portfolio delivered a total return of 11.1% in U.S. dollar terms, trailing the MSCI World index’s advance of 12.8% for the same period. Since its inception at the end of 2019, the strategy has generated a compound annual return of 13.9%, outpacing the benchmark’s 13.4%.
Canadian National Railway, the industrials pick, reported adjusted net income of C$2.08 per share for Q2 2026 and revenue of US$4.75 billion, exceeding estimates and prompting upward revisions to full-year guidance. The stock drew upgrades from Evercore ISI and a reiterated Hold rating from Benchmark.
Apotex Health, a Canadian generic-drug manufacturer holding 23% of its domestic market and ranking among the top 10 in the U.S., joined the list in the healthcare sector. Lonza, also in healthcare, was added at 592.80 Swiss francs per share, down 0.17% on the update day.
The quarterly refresh reflects RBC’s ongoing rotation toward higher-quality names while maintaining core holdings with demonstrated resilience in volatile markets.
