Unum Group’s shares reached an all-time intraday peak of $94.60 on Thursday, extending a multi-month rally that has lifted the insurer’s market capitalization to $14.93 billion.
The stock last traded at $94.58, about 1% below its 52-week high, following a 22% year-to-date gain and a 30.6% total return over the past 12 months. The six-month advance stands at roughly 33%, underscoring sustained investor interest.
The advance came after Unum reported adjusted operating earnings of $2.16 per share for the second quarter of 2026, matching Wall Street expectations. Revenue totaled $3.37 billion, surpassing forecasts of $2.90 billion. The outperformance was driven by strength across core business segments, though concerns over margin pressure in U.S. disability and the U.K. unit tempered sentiment.
Analysts at InvestingPro noted the stock appears slightly overvalued relative to its fair value estimate, tempering near-term upside despite the recent rally.
