Ukrainian drones struck an Ozon logistics warehouse and an industrial facility in Russia’s Samara region overnight, injuring several people and disrupting operations, according to local officials.
Ozon, Russia’s second-largest online retailer, confirmed that people were injured in the attack on its facility in Chapayevsk but did not provide further details on casualties or damage. Samara Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said the strikes caused injuries but did not disclose the number or condition of those wounded.
Russia’s Defence Ministry reported that air defences intercepted and destroyed 457 Ukrainian drones across the country during the overnight operation. The ministry did not specify whether any of the intercepted drones were directly linked to the strikes in Samara.
The Samara region has been a frequent target of Ukrainian drone attacks due to its concentration of oil refineries, though it remains unclear whether the second industrial facility hit overnight was connected to the energy sector. This marks the first reported Ukrainian strike on an Ozon facility, following weeks of attacks on Wildberries warehouses, Russia’s largest online retailer.
Operations at the affected sites were suspended following the strikes, and authorities have not provided an estimated timeline for resumption.
