UiPath, Inc. (NYSE: PATH) announced enhancements to its Test Cloud platform in Las Vegas on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The updates introduce AI-powered capabilities designed to automate portions of the software testing process.
The new features include UiPath Autopilot, an AI assistant that interprets manual tests and executes them without requiring prebuilt automation, with releases beginning in October 2026. Autonomous Exploration allows testers to set goals for an AI agent that explores applications and reports findings. Additionally, AI-infused applications and agents testing tools use semantic and AI-based verification to assess whether applications achieve intended outcomes when outputs vary between runs, with a public preview scheduled for December 2026.
The enhancements also include the integration of Playwright, an open-source framework for automated web application testing, enabling organizations to run existing Playwright tests through Test Manager, with a public preview planned for October 2026. UiPath Delegate, described as an enterprise computer-use agent, automates workflows around test runs, with a public preview scheduled for October 2026.
Gerd Weishaar, SVP of Product, Testing Solutions at UiPath, stated, "AI-generated code is widening the gap between software development and testing." He added, "Test Cloud lets quality engineering teams hand more of the routine testing work to AI agents, including creating and maintaining automations, so they can focus on improving the testing environment."
UiPath positions these capabilities as steps toward a model it calls a "dark testing factory," where testing operates with reduced manual intervention.
