The transaction occurred as part of a broader series of moves by Qureshi, who acquired 13,746 shares between August 22 and 25 through the conversion of restricted stock units. During the same period, Trupanion withheld 5,486 shares valued at $174,355 to cover income tax obligations, which are not classified as sales. Following these adjustments, Qureshi retains a direct ownership of 4,230 Trupanion shares.
The insider sale follows Trupanion's Q2 2026 financial results, which reported earnings per share of $0.16, exceeding the estimated $0.1133, and revenue of $392.9 million, an 11% year-over-year increase. The company also announced a strategic decision to terminate its relationship with Pets Best, its largest client in the "Other" category, effective after the third quarter of 2028.
Trupanion's stock, which closed at $30.19 on Tuesday, has declined 19% year-to-date. Analysts have adjusted their outlooks in response to the company's evolving business model. Piper Sandler downgraded Trupanion from overweight to neutral while reducing its price target from $45 to $32. Stifel, meanwhile, raised its target from $28 to $29 but maintained a hold rating.
