The Bern-based wealth manager Invethos announced on Wednesday the appointment of finance professor Thorsten Hens and independent economist Adriel Jost to its board of directors.
Hens, a 20-year tenured professor of finance at the University of Zurich, also holds an adjunct professorship at the Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen. His prior academic roles include positions at Bielefeld University, the University of Lucerne, and Stanford University. Hens is recognized for his research in behavioral finance, which examines how psychological and biological factors influence investor decisions and market dynamics. He co-founded the Blockchain and Fintech Center at the University of Zurich, reflecting his engagement with modern financial technologies.
Jost, an independent economist, serves as a fellow at the Institute for Swiss Economic Policy at the University of Lucerne, a lecturer at the University of St. Gallen, and president of the Liberethica think tank. His professional background includes advisory roles for the Swiss National Bank’s governing board, chief economist positions at Wellershoff & Partners and WPuls, and financial analyst roles at a major bank and a family office.
Invethos, which operates in Bern, Zurich, and Gümligen, did not disclose additional details about the appointments. Hens and Jost will contribute expertise in behavioral finance, monetary policy, and financial regulation to the firm’s strategic oversight.
The appointments follow Invethos’ expansion in Switzerland’s financial hubs, where it continues to build a presence alongside established wealth management firms.
