Swedish equities closed higher on Tuesday, with the OMX Stockholm 30 index gaining 0.83% at the end of trading. The advance was broad-based across key sectors, led by healthcare, telecoms and industrials, which underpinned overall market momentum.
Advancing stocks significantly outnumbered decliners on the Stockholm exchange, with 488 stocks rising compared to 249 falling. A further 70 issues ended the session unchanged. AstraZeneca led the gains, climbing 2.61% to close at 1,609.00, adding 41.00 points. Sandvik followed with a 1.99% rise to 394.80, while Alfa Laval advanced 1.59% to 575.00.
Among the decliners, SAAB’s class B shares fell 0.62% to 638.20, Svenska Cellulosa’s class B shares lost 0.22% to 112.00, and Essity’s class B shares declined 0.18% to 280.70.
Commodities showed mixed performance, with October crude oil futures down 3.38% to $82.14 per barrel and November Brent crude falling 3.43% to $87.43. December gold futures edged up 0.12% to $4,703.36 per troy ounce.
Foreign exchange movements reflected a softer Swedish krona, with EUR/SEK down 0.14% to 11.05 and USD/SEK falling 0.22% to 9.47. The U.S. Dollar Index futures were down 0.05% at 98.88.
