Strive said it acquired 1,110 Bitcoin for approximately $81.5 million last week, bringing its total corporate holdings to 21,356 BTC as of Aug. 21. The purchases, made between Aug. 17 and Aug. 21, were executed at an average price of $73,409 per Bitcoin, inclusive of fees and expenses.
The company’s cash and cash equivalents increased by $17.1 million to $171.9 million during the period, while its Class A shares outstanding rose by 3.65 million to 79.89 million. Bitcoin was trading near $79,000 on Monday, roughly 8% above Strive’s average purchase price for the latest tranche.
The acquisition elevated Strive to the seventh-largest publicly traded corporate holder of Bitcoin, according to data from BitcoinTreasuries.NET, placing it behind Bullish and ahead of SpaceX. Strive’s Nasdaq-listed ASST shares surged more than 11% in early Monday trading, extending year-to-date gains to about 36%.
Strive operates a Bitcoin treasury strategy alongside an asset management business overseeing nearly $3 billion in assets across exchange-traded funds and a direct-indexing platform. As of Aug. 21, the company also held 505,000 shares of Strategy’s STRC preferred stock, valued at $48.6 million.
The company’s variable-rate perpetual preferred stock, SATA, closed at $100.01 on Friday, returning to its targeted $99-to-$101 trading range after dipping as low as $83.30 in late June. Strive narrowed the range from $95-to-$105 to $99-to-$101 in March and pledged not to issue SATA below $100 through at-the-market or follow-on offerings.
Launched in November 2025, SATA initially sold 2 million shares at $80 each, raising $160 million in gross proceeds. The stock is structured as an income product with a variable dividend rate designed to keep shares near the $100 par value. Strive raised the annualized dividend to 13% in April and transitioned to daily dividend payments on June 16.
SATA mirrors Strategy’s STRC, another variable-rate perpetual preferred stock issued by the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder. STRC was trading near $97 on Monday, below Strategy’s $100 target, while Strategy reported no Bitcoin purchases for the week ended Aug. 23.
