Datacentrex Inc. (NASDAQ: DTCX) will deploy 500 prepaid ElphaPex DG2 Scrypt ASIC miners within 30 days, increasing its operational hashrate by 21% to approximately 52 terahashes per second.
The Salt Lake City-based company operates 3,085 Scrypt ASIC miners across four U.S. colocation facilities, currently delivering 43.2 TH/s of hashrate and 12.5 MW of power capacity. Upon energization of the new units, Datacentrex expects to add 9.0 TH/s of Scrypt hashrate, bringing total deployed capacity to 52 TH/s.
The deployment requires no additional capital expenditure, as the miners were purchased and paid for in 2025. The company’s fleet merge-mines Dogecoin and Litecoin under the Scrypt algorithm, tying mining revenue directly to price movements in either asset. Dogecoin traded near $0.09 as of August 22, up roughly 32% over the seven days ending August 21.
Chief Executive Officer Parker Scott emphasized the company’s strategy to preserve liquidity and expand its asset base during market downturns. 'We have been consistent about how we intend to operate through a down market: preserve liquidity, protect the balance sheet, and continue to build the asset base when we believe others are stepping back,' Scott said. 'This deployment is exactly that.'
Datacentrex operates a digital asset mining business and is transitioning into digital-asset infrastructure, data-center operations, and quantum-computing-adjacent technologies.
