Sonoco Products Company will increase prices for uncoated recycled paperboard grades in the EMEA region by €60 per metric ton, effective September 15, 2026, for all shipments made on or after that date.
The adjustment, announced on August 25, 2026, follows inflationary pressures, geopolitical constraints, and rising energy and fuel costs, according to the company. Sonoco S.a.r.l., its wholly owned European unit, cited the inability to absorb additional costs as the rationale for the price increase.
Sonoco operates 19 tubes and core plants and five paperboard mills across Europe. The company reported net sales of $7.5 billion from continuing operations in 2025 and employs approximately 22,000 people in 37 countries.
