SEALSQ Corp (NASDAQ: LAES) said its QASIC initiative is progressing toward a first prototype in 2026, as the company builds a supply chain across Switzerland, France, Spain, the U.S., South Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
The project, led by SEALSQ’s French ASIC design subsidiary IC’Alps, targets cybersecurity, medical and automotive sectors with quantum-resistant application-specific integrated circuits. Priority applications include secure microcontrollers and hardware security modules for cybersecurity, connected medical devices and patient-monitoring systems for healthcare, and connected and autonomous vehicle systems for automotive.
IC’Alps will contribute RISC-V-based system-on-chip infrastructure, functional safety features, embedded non-volatile memory and analog and mixed-signal design capabilities, according to the company. Foundry partners named in the initiative include TSMC, GlobalFoundries, STMicroelectronics, Intel Foundry, X-FAB and ams-OSRAM.
Carlos Moreira, SEALSQ’s CEO, said the long operational lifespans of semiconductor products make it critical to embed post-quantum security at the design stage. Jean-Luc Triouleyre, General Manager of IC’Alps, added that the company’s expertise in digital, analog and mixed-signal design addresses the security, safety, performance and certification needs of target markets.
SEALSQ’s shares closed at $2.54 on Aug. 25, up 2.42% or $0.06 from the prior session.
