R&S Group has concluded a framework agreement with wind energy specialist Nextwind for the project-based supply of power transformers, the company said Thursday.
The products will be supplied under the Zrew brand, which specializes in power transformers for transmission grids and renewable energy. The contract is designed to cover Nextwind's demand for power transformers over the coming years for its planned repowering portfolio, R&S said.
Nextwind is an independent energy producer and project developer headquartered in Berlin and London, specializing in the revitalization of existing wind farms. The company is backed by investors including Sandbrook Capital, PSP Investments, and Imco.
For R&S, the contract underscores the expansion of its wind energy business. The transformer manufacturer plans to double its production capacity for power transformers at its facility in Łódź, Poland, by 2028.
