Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ: META) unveiled the Muse Charm, a palm-sized handheld device designed to run the Muse AI agent, during its Meta Connect 2026 keynote held in Menlo Park, California. The event was addressed by CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Chief AI Officer Alexander Wang.
The Muse Charm features a small screen and 5G connectivity, allowing users to interact with Muse agents without using a phone. It is set to be available for purchase by December. Alongside the Muse Charm, Meta also unveiled new models of its popular smart glasses, including a camera-less version, and virtual reality glasses.
The Muse AI agent was released as a phone application in early-September and quickly became the most downloaded app on Apple's U.S. App Store, overtaking OpenAI's ChatGPT. Meta plans to offer the app for free for a 'huge number of tokens' and introduce a 'small' transaction fee. The AI agent's capabilities have been expanded to include altering its appearance and voice, tight integration into Meta's AI smart glasses, direct interaction with a user's computer, and 'connectors' for partner application integration, specifically featuring agentic ecommerce shopping. The app is integrated with major retailers, including Walmart and Best Buy.
Mark Zuckerberg stated, 'In the coming years, I expect that Muse is going to grow into the personal superintelligence that billions of people are going to use.'
Meta's shares traded down 0.4% by 20:40 ET (00:40 GMT) after earlier falling as much as 1.5%.
