Prudential plc plans to divest a 2% stake in ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company (IPAMC) through an open market sale, reducing its holding to 32.6% once completed.
The transaction follows IPAMC’s December 19, 2025 IPO and aligns with India’s minimum public float requirement of 15%, which the asset manager aims to meet within five years of listing. Prudential Corporation Holdings Limited (PCHL), the group’s India-focused unit, will retain governance rights in IPAMC after the sale.
Both the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE were notified of the planned divestment. Prudential, which operates in life and health insurance and asset management across Greater China, ASEAN, India, and Africa, holds dual primary listings in Hong Kong and London, with additional listings via ADRs on the NYSE and SGX.
The sale is scheduled for execution on Thursday, with no further details disclosed on pricing or timing.
