Pony AI Inc. reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $36.2 million, exceeding analyst expectations of $35.2 million by $1.0 million, or 2.84%, despite a 3.13% premarket decline in its shares to $7.73.
The autonomous vehicle company’s robotaxi segment generated $12.1 million in revenue, a 691% year-over-year increase, while fare-charging revenue surged 849%. Robotruck revenue rose 40% to $13.3 million, and intelligent solutions revenue grew 4% to $10.8 million. Total operating expenses under GAAP reached $72.1 million, up 9.6% from the prior year, resulting in a GAAP operating loss of $65.7 million, a 7.3% increase. The net loss narrowed to $45.4 million, down 14.9% year-over-year, with non-GAAP operating loss rising less than 5%.
Cash and cash equivalents stood at $1.39 billion as of June 30, 2026, with operating cash outflow of $44 million during the quarter. The company’s market capitalization was $3.47 billion. Gross profit margin over the last twelve months was 15.78%, while revenue growth for the LTM as of Q1 2026 was 44.18%. The current ratio was 16.12.
Pony AI’s robotaxi fleet expanded to 2,000 vehicles, with plans to reach 3,500 by year-end 2026. Registered users surpassed 1.5 million, and the company aims to operate in more than 20 cities by the end of the year. Key vehicle models in daily service include the GAC Aion V, BAIC Arcfox Alpha T5, and Toyota bZ4X.
Domestic operations expanded in Guangzhou, covering over 300 square kilometers in Haizhu, Tianhe, Huangpu, and Panyu districts, and in Shenzhen, integrating three major transit hubs: Bao'an International Airport, Shenzhen Bay Port, and Shekou Cruise Port. Internationally, Pony AI secured over 4,000 vehicle commitments, including more than 2,000 robotaxis across five European cities with Uber, alongside partnerships with Bolt and Stellantis in Luxembourg, and ComfortDelGro in Singapore.
The company highlighted its PonyWorld 2.0 system, which automates issue isolation and solution validation to reduce manual engineering workloads, particularly in new markets such as Zagreb, Croatia. Pony AI also emphasized its L4 light truck initiative, described as the world’s first automotive-grade fully redundant light truck for autonomous driving.
Chairman and CEO Dr. James Peng noted the company delivered “another fantastic quarter,” driven by an “eight times jump in robotaxi revenue.” CTO Dr. Tiancheng Lou emphasized PonyWorld 2.0’s efficiency gains, while CFO Dr. Leo Wang stated that revenue growth “significantly outpaced” non-GAAP operating expense growth, reflecting improving economies of scale.
