Nuwellis Inc. reported it has sold 31 Aquadex SmartFlow system consoles year-to-date in 2026, a figure the company said exceeds the full-year console sales recorded in seven of the past 10 years.
The Minneapolis-based developer of cardiorenal therapies released the figures Thursday alongside data showing 26% year-over-year U.S. revenue growth during the first half of 2026. CEO Mike McCormick called the console count "an important indicator of the commercial progress we are making to expand our installed base of Aquadex systems."
The Aquadex SmartFlow system delivers controlled ultrafiltration therapy and consists of a console, catheter, and disposable blood circuit set. Each console sale creates follow-on revenue from repeated use of the company's single-use blood circuits. U.S. adoption spans pediatric, critical-care and heart-failure patient populations.
Nuwellis noted that current placement activity is occurring in a normalized hospital environment, a contrast to historical peak console-placement periods during the COVID-19 pandemic when hospitals expanded access to fluid-removal technologies across broader patient groups.
