NIQ Expands Product Insights Tool to Seven Western European Markets

NIQ (NYSE:NIQ) announced Monday the expansion of its Product Insights tool to seven additional Western European markets, extending a platform that correlates product attributes with sales performance data.

The newly covered territories are Austria, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland. The tool was previously available in France, Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom, along with earlier launches in Canada.

Product Insights merges product characteristics—such as ingredients, claims, certifications, nutrients and functional benefits—with market measurement data to link product features directly to sales outcomes. The firm designed the offering for manufacturers, retailers and category managers seeking to identify growth drivers and understand shopper choice.

NIQ cited consumer-research figures indicating that 41% of Western European consumers are willing to pay more for products with elevated ingredients or formulations, while 39% would pay a premium for ingredient and supply-chain transparency.

In category-specific examples from existing markets, shampoo products carrying a "Gentle Formula" benefit grew 48% in Germany, outpacing less than 1% growth across the total shampoo category. In the United Kingdom, skin-cleansing products featuring a "hyaluronic acid" claim grew 61% and averaged £15.87 per kilogram—more than three times the category average price of £5.04 per kilogram.

"As shoppers, and increasingly AI-powered shopping tools, evaluate products against more specific needs and preferences, Product Intelligence is becoming essential commerce infrastructure," said Emilie Darolles, president, Western Europe at NIQ.

NIQ operates in more than 90 countries, covering approximately 82% of the world's population and over $7.4 trillion in global consumer spend.
