Meta Platforms is set to launch its consumer-facing AI agent platform, Hatch, within the coming weeks, according to internal documents reviewed by The Information. The platform, which will be accessible to the general public, represents a strategic effort by CEO Mark Zuckerberg to diversify revenue streams beyond advertising by leveraging the company’s AI capabilities.
Hatch is designed as the consumer version of OpenClaw, Meta’s AI agent framework, and will initially operate with the company’s newest AI model, Watermelon. The launch comes as Meta accelerates development timelines for Watermelon, with plans to introduce the model in October. The company had previously considered a tiered pricing structure for Hatch, including a premium subscription plan priced at $199.99 per month to offer higher usage limits, according to earlier reporting by The Information.
The move underscores Meta’s broader ambitions to integrate AI agents into everyday digital interactions, positioning the platform as a potential long-term revenue driver. Analysts have noted that such initiatives could help offset the volatility in advertising markets that has historically driven a significant portion of the company’s earnings. The platform’s public launch, expected in the near term, will mark a key milestone in Meta’s AI monetization strategy, following months of internal development and testing phases.
