Mayfair Gold Corp. has appointed Desmond Tranquilla as Project Director and Ruben Wallin as Senior Vice President of Sustainability for its Fenn-Gib gold project in northern Ontario.
Tranquilla brings over 35 years of experience in project development and construction, including leadership roles at Canada Nickel Company, SNC-Lavalin, Ausenco, and Detour Gold. Wallin, with more than 30 years in environmental management and permitting, previously held positions at Placer Dome, De Beers Canada, Barrick, and Osisko.
The appointments coincide with the company’s 2026 Pre-Feasibility Study for the Fenn-Gib project, which outlines an initial development capital requirement of C$450 million. The project, located in Ontario’s “One Project, One Process” approvals framework, targets first production in 2030, with a construction decision projected for 2028.
As part of the appointments, both executives received 200,000 common share stock options, exercisable at the volume-weighted average price over the five trading days preceding August 24, 2026, and expiring on August 24, 2031. Additionally, 2,452,500 Performance Restricted Share Units were granted to certain directors and employees, vesting upon achievement of Fenn-Gib milestones or after one year, with a maximum restriction period of three years.
The Fenn-Gib project hosts an indicated mineral resource of 4.3 million ounces of gold. Mayfair Gold operates under TSX Venture Exchange ticker MFG and NYSE American ticker MINE.
