Mayfair Gold Corp. said on Monday it appointed Desmond Tranquilla as Chief Projects Officer and Ruben Wallin as Senior Vice President, Sustainability to lead the Fenn-Gib gold project in Northern Ontario.
Tranquilla brings more than three decades of project development and construction experience, including oversight of Vale’s C$1.6 billion Atmospheric Emission Reduction Project and the C$1.5 billion Detour Lake Mine Project. Wallin joins from Generation Mining, where he led environmental approvals for the Marathon Project, with over 30 years in environmental stewardship and permitting.
The Toronto-based miner said the appointments come as it advances the Fenn-Gib project through Ontario’s integrated approvals framework. The project hosts a 4.3 million ounce indicated mineral resource, with a pre-feasibility study scheduled for 2026 outlining initial development capital of C$450 million.
Mayfair Gold targets a construction decision in 2028 and first production in 2030. Both executives received stock options to acquire 200,000 common shares each, exercisable at the five-day volume weighted average price as of August 24, 2026, expiring August 24, 2031.
An additional 2.45 million performance restricted share units were granted to officers and employees, vesting upon achievement of specific Fenn-Gib milestones or after one year, with a maximum vesting period of three years.
