nVent Electric (NYSE: NVT) agreed to acquire Maverick Power, a McKinney, Texas-based manufacturer of data center power distribution equipment, for $1.75 billion in cash.
The acquisition will be funded through a combination of existing cash reserves and new debt. nVent also disclosed an earnout structure, with up to an additional $550 million payable in 2027 and 2028 contingent on Maverick achieving specified performance targets.
The deal is slated to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. nVent’s Chief Executive Officer Beth Wozniak stated the acquisition supports the company’s push into artificial intelligence infrastructure by expanding its power distribution and infrastructure offerings for data centers.
Maverick Power specializes in engineered power solutions, including low- and medium-voltage switchgears, switchboards, and integrated modular systems designed for data center environments. The company’s products address critical power delivery needs in high-density computing facilities, aligning with nVent’s strategy to serve sectors experiencing rapid growth in AI-driven demand.
The transaction follows nVent’s broader focus on high-growth infrastructure markets, including data center, industrial and renewable energy applications, where reliable power distribution remains a key requirement for operational efficiency and scalability.
