The Zurich-based private bank Maerki Baumann has appointed Patrick Vogt as its new Head of External Asset Managers (EAM), effective Sept. 1, 2026. The decision underscores the bank’s commitment to continuity in its EAM business, a segment it has cultivated for more than two decades.
Vogt, who joined Maerki Baumann in 2007, brings nearly 19 years of experience in servicing independent asset managers. Prior to his current role, he held positions at Banque Générale du Luxembourg’s Zurich branch, focusing on portfolio management, trading, and EAM client relations. His banking career began with a traineeship at the former Schweizerischer Bankverein in Baden.
CEO Stephan A. Zwahlen highlighted the strategic importance of the EAM segment, noting that it has been a core discipline at Maerki Baumann for over 25 years. The bank’s offerings to external asset managers include custody services, execution for traditional and digital assets, investment products, research, financing solutions, e-banking, and reporting tools. ‘We are pleased to appoint an internal expert who has deep experience in this field,’ Zwahlen said.
The EAM business has been a cornerstone of Maerki Baumann’s strategy, reflecting the bank’s long-term approach to client partnerships and operational stability.
