Kid ASA, the Scandinavian home furnishings retailer, reported a 6.8% year-over-year increase in group revenues to MNOK 914.8 for the second quarter of 2026, driven by an 8.3% rise in like-for-like sales including online channels. The company’s online sales surged 43.3%, lifting the online revenue share to 15.9% of total sales, or 20.4% when including click-and-collect services.
Gross margins expanded by 0.9 percentage points to 63.2%, while EBITDA grew 15.2% to MNOK 217.8. Operating cash flow rose by MNOK 103.8 compared with the same period last year. The retailer attributed the margin improvement to operational efficiencies and a recovery in supply chain logistics, noting that 2025’s challenges had been fully resolved by Q2 2026.
Segment performance showed Kid Interior, the group’s core brand, reporting a 7.1% revenue increase with online sales up 48.7%. Gross margins for Kid Interior improved by 0.6 percentage points to 63.0%, while EBITDA reached MNOK 152, representing a 26.3% margin. Hemtex, the group’s mid-market brand, posted a 12.5% revenue increase, with online sales rising 36.4% and gross margins expanding by 1.3 percentage points to 63.6%. EBITDA for Hemtex totaled MNOK 66, a 19.3% margin.
Total group revenues for the first half of 2026 reached MNOK 1,715.3, with gross profit of MNOK 1,067.7 and EBITDA of MNOK 350.4. The company paid a dividend of MNOK 102 and utilized an additional MNOK 67 in debt facilities. Net interest-bearing debt stood at MNOK 1,080.1, with a gearing ratio of 2.06x, up from 1.65x at the prior quarter-end. Cash and available credit facilities totaled MNOK 318.8, including a newly secured committed revolving credit facility of MNOK 100.
Kid ASA plans to open two new stores in Norway during Q4 2026 and has scheduled Christmas inventory shipments to begin in September. The company’s management noted that freight rates rose in Q2 due to regional instability, which may pressure margins in the coming quarters. System modernization efforts were described as progressing according to plan.
