Israel’s TA 35 index closed 0.35% higher on Tuesday, with gains led by the insurance and financial sectors, while the broader market showed a near-even split between advancing and declining stocks.
The benchmark gauge rose as insurers Migdal Insurance and Clal Insurance Enterprises Holdings advanced 3.14% each. Camtek, a semiconductor inspection equipment maker, climbed 3.39% to lead the index’s top performers. In contrast, ICL Israel Chemicals fell 4.43%, the largest decline among constituents.
Across the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, 236 stocks declined, 235 advanced, and 88 ended unchanged, indicating a broadly balanced session. The index’s advance follows a mixed regional market backdrop, with global crude benchmarks also under pressure.
Crude oil futures declined, with October WTI down 3.06% to $82.41 per barrel and November Brent falling 2.96% to $87.86. Gold futures for December delivery eased 0.10% to $4,693.00 per troy ounce.
The Israeli shekel strengthened against major currencies, with the USD/ILS pair down 0.78% to 2.98 and the EUR/ILS rate falling 0.75% to 3.48. The U.S. Dollar Index futures were little changed, down 0.03% at 98.90.
